Individually and by themselves, these discoveries are often only small pieces of the mosaic, fascinating and too good to ignore, but on the other hand of too little substance for publication on their own.</p> <p>By founding the journal <em>Keshif</em>, we aim to fulfill a desideratum that has long been keenly felt in scholarly circles for the treatment of precisely these kinds of texts.</p> <p>Our vision for <em>Keshif</em> is to provide a forum (and medium) for researchers to make these fragments accessible to a wider audience, including non-Ottomanists, i.e. to bring together the many pieces of the mosaic, such that complete pictures gradually emerge. <em>Keshif</em> is an electronic journal dedicated to collecting and editing small, fine texts and providing easy, free access to the material through a database with sound search functions.</p> <p><strong>Open Access Statement</strong></p> <p><em>Keshif</em> is an open-access journal, which means all its content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. <em>Keshif</em> provides open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. <em>Keshif</em> operates under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. This allows others to distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon the work, even commercially, as long as they credit the authors for the original creation. All authors publishing in KESHIF accept these as the terms of publication.</p>https://journals.univie.ac.at/index.php/keshif/article/view/8613Summary of illegible or debatable words2024-03-13T11:08:00+00:00<div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>Summary of illegible or debatable words</p> </div> </div> </div>2024-03-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Keshifhttps://journals.univie.ac.at/index.php/keshif/article/view/8600A Mülāzemet Memorandum (inhā) by Zekeriyazade Yahya Efendi, Kazasker of Rumelia2024-03-12T12:11:21+00:00Ercan Akyolercan.akyol@univie.ac.at<p>A Mülāzemet Memorandum (inhā) by Zekeriyazade Yahya Efendi, Kazasker of Rumelia</p>2024-03-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Keshifhttps://journals.univie.ac.at/index.php/keshif/article/view/8605The Seas of Neglected History: A Muslim-Ottoman Merchant’s Ordeal in Trieste2024-03-13T09:59:19+00:00Zeynep Arslan Çalıkza.zeyneparslan@gmail.com<p>The Seas of Neglected History: A Muslim-Ottoman Merchant’s Ordeal in Trieste</p>2024-03-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Keshifhttps://journals.univie.ac.at/index.php/keshif/article/view/8606The Love Ailment: A Prescription for a Lover2024-03-13T10:10:09+00:00Zeynep Avcızeynepavc9871@gmail.com<p>The Love Ailment: A Prescription for a Lover</p>2024-03-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Keshifhttps://journals.univie.ac.at/index.php/keshif/article/view/8607An Ottoman Intelligence Report concerning Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots: Damsel in Distress2024-03-13T10:21:45+00:00Ahmet DemirelDemirel_Ahmet@student.ceu.edu<p>An Ottoman Intelligence Report concerning Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots: Damsel in Distress</p>2024-03-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Keshifhttps://journals.univie.ac.at/index.php/keshif/article/view/8608A Prescription for Love Sickness2024-03-13T10:28:48+00:00Hasan Doğanhasan.dogan@gumushane.edu.tr<div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>A Prescription for Love Sickness</p> </div> </div> </div>2024-03-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Keshifhttps://journals.univie.ac.at/index.php/keshif/article/view/8609A Mixture of Sugar and Tail Fat: 17th Century Recipes for Pastry and Medicine2024-03-13T10:35:05+00:00Fatma Elcanfatmaelcan99@gmail.com<div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>A Mixture of Sugar and Tail Fat: 17th Century Recipes for Pastry and Medicine</p> </div> </div> </div>2024-03-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Keshifhttps://journals.univie.ac.at/index.php/keshif/article/view/8610A Chronogram Dating the Construction of the Mevlevi Lodge in Gelibolu2024-03-13T10:40:50+00:00Saba Dilşad Kocatürksd.kocaturk@gmail.com<div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>A Chronogram Dating the Construction of the Mevlevi Lodge in Gelibolu</p> </div> </div> </div>2024-03-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Keshifhttps://journals.univie.ac.at/index.php/keshif/article/view/8611One Era, Two Sultans of Words: A Story About Karamanlı Nizâmî and Ahmed Paşa2024-03-13T10:49:16+00:00Uğur Öztürkugurozturk1574@gmail.com<div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>One Era, Two Sultans of Words: A Story About Karamanlı Nizâmî and Ahmed Paşa</p> </div> </div> </div>2024-03-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Keshifhttps://journals.univie.ac.at/index.php/keshif/article/view/8612Ottoman Relations with the Danubian Principalities during the Fifteen Years War (1591-1606)2024-03-13T10:59:58+00:00Samuel Stevensss185@iu.edu<div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>Ottoman Relations with the Danubian Principalities during the Fifteen Years War (1591-1606)</p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div>2024-03-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Keshif
