Key Elements of Evaluation Frameworks for Transformative R&I Programmes in Europe

Abstract

Transformative R&I programmes aspire to contribute to solve socioeconomic challenges and spur transformation. This article discusses the question what the key elements of evaluation frameworks for such transformative R&I programmes in Europe are. The focal point is on the relevance of Strategic Research and Innovation Agendas (SRIAs) and the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems that need to be set up following such an approach.
