Too young for narratology? – Age markers in Andreas Steinhöfel’s work

Abstract

The text-reader fit and thus the age of the recipients as well as of the protagonists play a decisive role in the selection of children’s and young adult literature. The article analyses the role of age in Andreas Steinhöfel’s work. Based on four novels, both thematic and linguistic age markers are taken into account. The focus of this analysis is on character stability and the role of humor.
