Die Bedeutung der Josef Ressel Zentren für die angewandte Forschung an der Fachhochschule Oberösterreich

Abstract

Josef Ressel Centers (JR-Centers) are funding frameworks specific to universities of applied sciences (UAS). They enable application-oriented research in cooperation with industry partners. The strategic importance for the UAS results from the promotion of excellent applied research, the development of young scientists, the enormous leverage effect and the networking with industry partners, all of which can be substantiated by concrete metrics. This article also provides an overview of the research activities of the eleven completed and ongoing JR Centers at the UAS Upper Austria and gives examples to show that the transfer of applied research into products and services is indeed successful.
