The letter under study is undated, but its content suggests that it was likely sent from Manisa in around 1520. In the letter, Ḥafṣa Sulṭān instructs her son to call for her “as soon as you ascend the throne,” indicating her awareness of the imminent transfer of authority. Historical records show that 117 individuals were moved from Manisa to Constantinople following Süleymān’s accession
