Abstract

The history of the West German agriculture between the end of war (1945) und the integration into the Common Market (1957) is in a contradictory mood. The development began of the hunger disaster 1945 and developed into an expensive overproduction. The German agricultural policy switched the points in a wrong way. Based on technical modernization the overproduction became finally an European problem. The German agricultural policy did not learn from the agricultural dilemma of the Weimar Republic.
