The website Vicki Baum Digital was created as part of the FWF- and DFG-funded project Vicki Baum: Annotated Edition of Selected Works. It features a selection of digitised documents on both the life of the writer Vicki Baum (1888–1960) and the six edited volumes. Vicki Baum, originally from a Jewish family in Vienna, got famous in Berlin during the interwar period and emigrated to the US in 1932. For a long time dismissed as an “entertainment writer”, her works have attracted increasing interest in recent years, particularly in the context of discussions surrounding canonisation processes – the edition and website reflect these developments.
