From the women's library to the zines archive. Self-representations of the institutions networked in frida

Abstract

The institutions mentioned in the article are currently members of frida, the association for the promotion and networking of women-specific information and documentation institutions in Austria. The presentation is listed alphabetically. They range from "A", like the AEP Women's Library in Innsbruck, which was founded in 1979 as the first feminist library in Austria - to "Z", like the Zines Archive at the University of Salzburg, which has been collecting queer feminist zines from the Riot Grrl movement since the 1990s. These two very different institutions already give an impression of the diversity of specific libraries, archives, and documentation institutions in Austria, which are introduced here in more detail.
