Abstract

‘To what extent is my document accessible? How can I check that?’ – these questions are addressed in the test instructions ‘Accessibility in everyday office life: an overview of free and easily accessible test tools’, which were created in the ‘Accessibility’ working group of the Network for Repository Managers (RepManNet) in 2024. Accessibility testing, whether for documents or websites, can be technically complex and time-consuming. However, in recent years, more and more automated tools have emerged that offer low-threshold access to checking digital content for accessibility. This article is intended to provide an overview of some of these applications and highlight their possibilities and limitations.
