Handling metadata in repositories - an Austria-wide survey

Abstract

This article discusses the results of a telephone survey on the subject of metadata that was carried out in summer 2015 among the institutions participating in the project e-Infrastructures Austria. The aim of the survey was to provide an overview of the most important software systems and their specific uses, the most commonly used metadata standards and the habits and expectations of the users. Future plannings and developments were also included in the questionnaire.
