Robert Jütte, director of the Institute for the History of Medicine of the Robert Bosch Stiftung in Stuttgart from 1990 to 2020, published the book "Geschichte der Sinne" in 2000 and is thus considered a pioneer of historical sensory research in the German-speaking world. In the context of the workshop "Sinnesräume. Sensory Studies and Spatial Concepts: Schall (aus)messen, Grenzen (er)tasten, Gerüche (ein)ordnen, Zeiten (ab)schmecken …" at the University of Innsbruck, 27-28 May 2021, he held the keynote address entitled "The War and the Senses. From the First to the Second World War." During the workshop, Ellinor Forster and Regina Thumser-Wöhs conducted the conversation with Robert Jütte, whose areas of specialization include medical history, everyday and cultural history of the early modern period, and Jewish history.Downloads
