Abstract

Klaus Katzlberger's article is dedicated to new technical possibilities in the field of the artistic use of augmented reality in the classroom. After a review of the topic of immersion and virtuality in art, as well as an overview of current application possibilities of AR in the classroom, a research-based teaching project is described in which 3D scans of self-designed clay objects were made with the help of the LiDAR technology built into the iPad and iPhone Pro. The main focus was on the practical feasibility of the lessons and the motivational effects of the digitally enriched lessons on the pupils.
