Abstract

Since their birth at the end of the 19th century we have been fascinated by moving pictures. Movies take us to distant countries, past or future times and into fictional worlds. Above all it are the special effects that make this possible. The exhibition of the same name in the Technical Museum Vienna tells the story of special effects in the film industry from the beginning of production to the cinema auditorium.
