Abstract

In this article, the unquestioned usage of learning style models in German-language media didactics despite the ambiguous scientific evidence is called into question. First, the evidence is summarized based on reviews from the English-speaking community. From this it emerges that learning style models and assessment instruments based on them are to be viewed critically among other things due to inadequate research. In the following, examples of media didactics in German language are given, in which references to common learning style models are made despite this state of evidence. Thereby it becomes evident that a critical examination of learning style models is lacking in German-language media didactics.
