Abstract

Hate, hate speech, fake news and disinformation are challenges for society as a whole that do not stop at children and young people. There are a number of school and civil society media literacy initiatives and approaches. This article presents and reflects on a practical example of teaching these complex phenomena: A multimedia station that was designed as a learning zone at the Lange Nacht der Forschung [Long Night of Research] 2024, primarily aimed at children aged 6 to10, but was also able to reach adults with the content presented.
