Elke Hackl’s article develops a media pedagogical theory of the overlap between human(s) and machine(s) and uses the figure of the cyborg to explain how the knowledge bases of computer science and pedagogy, among others, can be combined and anchored in concrete teaching practice. The remarkable “Human Cyborg Lab” project presented here in detail serves as an empirical basis to support the theoretical considerations and hypotheses developed at the beginning.
Focusing on an understanding and rational approach to the future fears and concerns of a generation of children, teenagers and young adults whose expertise seems to be neglected in many areas, the media education research project Human Cyborg Lab attempts to offer spaces of possibility in which discourse based on the theory of goal-oriented communication takes place and the results of which are visualised artistically.
