The Kids Are All Right?
Eine empirische Analyse der Einstellungen und Wissensbestände zum SNS-Verbot für Jugendliche unter 14 Jahren in Österreich

In der vorliegenden Studie werden die Einstellungen, Bewertungen und Wissensbestände der österreichischen Bevölkerung zum geplanten Social-Media-Verbot für Jugendliche unter 14 Jahren untersucht. Basierend auf einer quantitativen Befragung von 151 Personen zeigt die Studie, dass die Bevölkerung das Verbot ambivalent bewertet. Zwar werden die Gefahren von Social Network Sites (SNS) anerkannt, die technische Umsetzbarkeit und die Effektivität des Verbots werden jedoch kritisch hinterfragt. Alternativen wie Medienbildung und Plattformregulierung werden als nachhaltige Ergänzungen angesehen. Die Ergebnisse werfen medienpädagogische und gesellschaftspolitische Fragen auf und verdeutlichen die Notwendigkeit einer intensiveren Aufklärung und Diskussion.
