Rezension: "Die Schachnovelle nach Stefan Zweig" von David Sala

Abstract

Appreciated and/or feared as required reading by students, Stefan Zweig's The Royal Game / Schachnovelle has long been part of the canon of world literature. In addition to two film adaptations, there is now also a comic adaptation, with David Sala's graphic novel, which was published in France in 2017 and now also appeared in German, impressing both in terms of its faithfulness to the work and its independent interpretation.
