Die Messung von Medienkompetenz

Ein vollständiger Literature Review

Abstract

Im Beitrag wird ein vollständiger Überblick über vorliegende Veröffentlichungen zur Messung der Medienkompetenz präsentiert. Es werden 178 Arbeiten ausgewertet. Methodisch werden eine Analyse auf Grundlage der Critical Media Theory, eine statistische Analyse und eine ordnende Analyse durchgeführt. Zentrale Ergebnisse sind, dass (1) Medienkompetenz mit allen Dimensionen messbar ist, (2) Medienkompetenz vermittelt werden kann, (3) es nur wenige Diskussionsstränge gibt, (4) viele Studien in den USA, in der Türkei und im Iran durchgeführt werden, (5) die meisten Messungen dazu dienen, ökonomische, religiöse oder politische Ideologien zu kommunizieren und (6) kaum Wissenstests durchgeführt werden.

Christian Swertz ist Professor für Medienpädagogik und Leiter der Wiener Medienpädagogik an der Universität Wien. Forschungssschwerpunkte der Wiener Medienpädagogik sind die Bildungstheorie der Medien, Mediendidaktik und E-Learning, pädagogische Computerspielforschung und die Medienbildung im schulischen und außerschulischen Bereich.
