Abstract

English

This article presents the "Digital Learning Campus Schleswig-Holstein" (DLC-SH) as a forward-looking educational initiative funded under a special funding line of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Schleswig-Holstein State Economic Programme and essentially conceived by the Ministerium für Allgemeine und Berufliche Bildung, Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kultur (MBWFK). The DLC-SH, whose project duration is planned from 2024 to 2029, aims to fundamentally transform Schleswig-Holstein's educational landscape. At the centre of the initiative is the creation of a digital education ecosystem that combines physical and digital learning locations to enable practical training in key technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data and robotics. Particular emphasis is placed on teaching future skills, which include technological, creative and social skills that are essential for the modern world of work. The DLC-SH promotes inclusion and educational equality through barrier-free and free programmes that are accessible to people from all social backgrounds. Another aim is to promote regional innovation through close cooperation between universities, companies and research institutions in order to strengthen the region's competitiveness. The funding of the project over 60 months ensures the technological equipment of the learning centres and the development of flexible educational settings. The DLC-SH is intended to establish itself as a central player in Schleswig-Holstein's educational landscape and serve as a model project for the education of the future.
